Location
The Dimitrios Apartment is immediately behind the old Byzantine church of St. Dimitrios by the northern edge of the village of the same name.
The village of Aghios Dimitrios is the opposite of what you call "exiting". The area is pronouncedly peaceful, and the olive and orange tree groves in the surroundings invite for extensive hikes.

500 meters north of the church there is the bigger village of Pighi.
Two baker's and two butcher's shops, two tavernas, and a grocery are located here, and there is also a tiny but very modern supermarket, a pharmacy, and the second hand shop of the  Friends of Animals of Rethymnon.
In Pighi there is also Kostis' mini department store by the road from Rethymnon to Arkadi, where you can really find almost everything.

Some 3 kms north there is already the coast, and the sandy beaches of Pighianos Campos and Adelianos Campos with a variety of goods and services of tourism needs of many kind.

The town center of Rethymnon is 10 kms away. The nearest bus stop is opposite to Kostis' mini department store.
Iraklion airport is 82 kms away, Hania airport 72 kms. With respect to the National Road's winding character, transfer durations from and to the airports must not be underestimated.
